Nursing Institutional Scholarship

These scholarships are awarded to exceptional high school, transfer and returning students who wish to pursue their degree program at Cox College.  Submission of the General Scholarship application is required. CGPAs are automatically checked at the end of each semester.  These scholarships are funded by the following benefactors:  Lester L. Cox, Lester E. Cox, Lillie Ward Wood, Levan, Peggy Pemeroy, Rinker Memorial, Dee Ann White, Janie Campbell, Musgrave, Carles Bush, Hannan, Mackey, Dick Brumfield, Polk Memorial, Thelma Silsby, Arthur, Magers, Burks and Cheryl Feeney. Awards will not exceed funds available for the academic year. Awards are based on the following criteria:

A. Graduating high school seniors enrolling in college for the first time must:

Admitted to the college

Enrolled in at least six (6) credit hours

Achieved an ACT score of 25 or higher


B. Current or transfer students:

Enrolled in at least six (6) credit hours

Maintain a CGPA of 3.75

Musgrave Scholarship Application

The Musgrave scholarship application is now available.  Students that wish to apply for this scholarship must meet the following requirements:

·  Cumulative GPA of 3.6 or higher
·  Currently accepted in the nursing program and enrolled in nursing courses
·  Demonstrate financial need
·
  Submit form by February 15th

Cox Auxiliary Financial Aid Program
The Cox Auxiliary Scholarship is currently available.  This scholarship is limited to ASN students that have been accepted in the program and are currently enrolled in nursing courses . Recipients will receive funding for full tuition.  Submission deadline is July 6th

Go to new account and then click on the Create account button. This program provides matriculated nursing students with full-tuition financial aid at Cox College.  Candy striper or hospital volunteer service will be given priority for consideration, but is not necessary. 

BSN Scholarship Application
The competitive scholarship is available for Cox College ASN graduates who wish to further their education in the BSN program, RN to BSN track, offered by the College. Eligibility for this scholarship is based on the following criteria:

  • Graduate from Cox College ASN program with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better
  • Submit a typewritten essay on the “value and professional significance of BSN education for nursing as a profession, and for personal development”
  • Scholarship Committee will interview candidates concerning their professional and career goals
  • Applicant should meet with their advisor to formulate a plan of study to complete the BSN program within 6 semesters or less.

The student awarded this scholarship is expected to be enrolled at least half-time in the BSN program, RN to BSN track, the semester immediately following graduation from the ASN program. The scholarship is renewable as long as the student continues half-time enrollment and maintains a CGPA of 3.0. Completion of the BSN program, RN to BSN track, is expected within six semesters.

Stella Anderson and James Knox:  Diversity Enhancement Scholarship
This scholarship(s) is awarded annually to scholastically qualified students from racial/ethnic backgrounds who are unable to afford the cost of a nursing education.  The amount and number of scholarships vary depending on available funds.  Recipient(s) must reapply each year.  The General Scholarship Application must be completed with the indication of interest.

Stone Scholarship
This scholarship(s) is awarded annually to exceptional prospective ASN graduates who wish to pursue the BSN completion track at Cox College.  This scholarship is a full tuition scholarship.  The deadline to submitting the application will be noted on the form.

Lena Zongker Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded annually to students entering 200 level nursing  courses who have an interest in hematology and cancer nursing.  The amount and number of scholarships vary depending on available funds.  Recipient(s) must reapply each year.  The General Scholarship Application must be completed with the indication of interest

June M. Baker Scholarship, Greater Ozarks Business and Professional Women
This scholarship is awarded to a single parent or head of household, with demonstrated financial need.  The recipient must maintain a 3.25 CPGA and maintain a full-time enrollment.  The amount of this scholarship is $250 per semester.
