Biography

Professor Dana Bush joined Cox College on August 2007. She moved back to Springfield after her husband retired from the United States Navy. Prior to joining Cox College, she taught nursing in Seattle, Washington, which she gained experience from five different nursing schools. Over a four year timeframe, she was employed at three nursing schools and she voluntarily taught at two other nursing schools. One of the nursing programs that Dana voluntarily lectured and assisted in their skills lab was Northwest University, in Kirkland, WA. Northwest University is a private Christian university that is affiliated with the Evangel University here in Springfield, MO.

Professor Bush completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) after attending the nursing program at Old Dominion University (ODU) in Norfolk, Virginia and completing her prerequisite courses in New Orleans, Louisiana. While attending ODU, she spent her weekends working the evening shift in an eighteen bed Intensive Care Unit assisting the nurses as she was able to enhance her knowledge and sharpen her skills that she learned in school. Besides practicing nursing in Springfield, Missouri and Seattle, Washington, she lived in Honolulu, Hawaii in which she worked in a Japanese hospital in the emergency department.
