Preparing to become a health professional in today’s ever-changing health care environment is both a challenging and rewarding experience. At Cox College we assure you that you will be challenged but you will also receive all the assistance and support you need to succeed. The College provides tutoring, counseling, and writing services for students. We offer preparatory course in both mathematics and English to facilitate success in the required general education curriculum. Study groups and other strategies are an integral feature of our discipline-specific programs.
Through our computer laboratories, students have access to the Internet to support their coursework. All students receive an email account upon registration to facilitate communication within the College. The College’s Website provides access to the most current information on College programs, activities, and schedules. Our practice laboratories make the latest in teaching technology available to students with on-site assistance available to support learning.

Degrees offered
Cox College awards an Associate of Science in Nursing degree (ASN) and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree (BSN). The ASN degree and the BSN degree received in the entry-level and accelerated BSN tracks enable the graduate to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN®) to become licensed as a registered nurse. The BSN degree received in the completion track provides the RN a broader view of professional nursing, as well as increases his/her marketability.
Certificates offered
Cox College awards certificates in Medical Transcription, Medical Billing-Coding and tDietetic Internship. A medical transcriptionist is a medical language specialist who interprets and accurately transcribes dictation by health care professionals. A medical coding specialist analyzes health care records and assigns codes to medical data. The codes classify diagnoses and procedures for use in medical research, reimbursement and health care planning. The program is designed to provide the opportunity to develop skills in the
areas of clinical nutrition therapy, community nutrition and food service
management. The Dietetic Internship program’s chosen emphasis area is nutrition therapy. Our unique program strength in nutrition diagnostics will provide future RDs with additional practice skills necessary to be better prepared to meet the emerging trends and priorities within the dietetics profession.
